ACCESS TO DIGITAL MEDIA

Flux

Can fantastic arts activities - like web design and film-making – help shape the new communities in North Swindon? That’s the question being posed by Flux, a three-year pilot project funded by the government. Flux: Creative Change is the name of the initiative and Mobile Media – part of Create Studios – is delivering this programme.

The first year of Flux has seen Mobile Media in action in all of the primary schools in the area, as well as running holiday and after-school activities featuring animation, web-design and film-making.

And, in addition to these exciting events, Mobile Media has commissioned a state-of-the-art facility - the FluxMobile. A striking airstream 33’ vehicle, which will tour the area offering a range of digital arts facilities under the guidance of James and Mark Carroll, intrepid digital artists!

The Flux Project is being delivered through Artsmad, a development initiative driven by Swindon Borough Council's Arts Services, and Arts Council England, in partnership with local and regional organisations. It provides access to high quality arts experiences for children and young people. Funding has enabled the purchase of state of the art mobile facilities building on the success of the Mobile Media initiative.
